Change of Heart
learning to lead ourselves first
Women's Leadership Conference
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly [actions] and to love mercy [motives] and to walk humbly [attitude] with your God." Micah 6:8 NIV (emphasis added)
What is Leadership?
Leadership is one of those elusive concepts... it is difficult to define, sometimes hard to recognize, but sorely missed when not practiced effectively. There are more complex definitions but the basic essence of leadership is influence. Influence may be defined as the ability to cause a change through a gradual process without controlling, or exerting force. One of my favorite quotes is, "He who thinks he leads when no one follows is only taking a walk" (Author unknown). Leadership does not require a position or title, but it does require followers.
Who is following our lead? Are the choices we make daily creating positive, productive results that would entice others - our children, husband, friends, employees or coworkers - to follow our example? Learning to better lead ourselves often requires a change in our thinking and mindset. The Change of Heart Women's Leadership Conference will challenge us and provide practical guidance on how to align our attitude, motives, and actions with those of Jesus Christ to ensure that we are individuals worth following.

Meet The Team
Amy Travis
Amy started FUSION in 2014 to provide leadership training and resources to women in the Saxonburg community. That vision grew into the FUSION Leadership Group in 2017. Her focus is to help individuals fuse the realities of everyday life with the Ultimate Reality, Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through the application of leadership principles because it requires ACTION and produces RESULTS. When so few things are within our control, our personal growth and conformity to the likeness of Jesus are a few.
She is a licensed minister and holds a master's degree in Organizational Leadership. She has been married to Perry for nearly 30 years and has two adult children (Nate, 25 and Valerie, 23) and one teenager (Nick, 15) still at home. Amy is the main speaker for the event.
Connie Geier
Connie has served the Lord for over 40 years and has spoken at many women's events. She challenges us to live grateful lives in every situation. She has three adult children and seven grandchildren. Connie was married for almost 50 years when her husband Tom died unexpectedly last year. She will be heading a break-out session entitled "Leading the Full Life"
Linda Wilson
Linda works in home healthcare and is energized by caring for the elderly and working with women. Her current ministry to help women overcome obstacles and reach their full potential was berthed after a crushing divorce 27 years ago. During this time she realized that through the grace of God, she and her children didn't have to become 'a statistic.' She is remarried to Jim and together they have five children and thirteen grandchildren. She will be heading a break-out session entitled "Leading through the Rebuilding."
Kate Gordon
Kate is passionate about two things: Jesus and people. She has devoted her life to working with people from all walks of life to understand their purpose and destiny in Christ. She has spent the last twenty years working in churches and non-profits. Kate earned her master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Geneva College and her undergrad in History/Theology from Duquesne University. She has an awesome husband, Jim and three amazing kids: Javan (10), Kali (8) and Jace (3). She will be heading a break-out session on "Leading in the Workplace."
Valerie Donnelly
Val graduated from IUP over a year ago and was married this past September to Cody, who serves as a police officer for the city of Pittsburgh. Val is part of the PA Air National Guard and currently works as an Assistant Project Manager for a construction company. They live in the Brighton Heights area of the city with their 'child' Sky, a one-year-old pit bull. Val will be heading a break-out session entitled "Leading Where You are Are."
